EchoWrite Overview

What is EchoWrite?

EchoWrite is an AI-powered voice dictation software designed for Windows platforms, turning spoken words into structured text within any Windows application. This tool uses Whisper, OpenAI's automatic speech recognition system, providing users with real-time transcription that captures thoughts swiftly and accurately. EchoWrite features native Windows integration, providing seamless operation where the user works, and handles text formatting, freeing users to focus on their tasks. The tool offers unique features such as instant removal of speech fillers and mistakes, yielding polished and ready-to-use text. EchoWrite also supports real-time translation, allowing users to speak in their language and type in another. Users also have the capability to define voice shortcuts for text summarization, formatting, or styling.Another interesting feature of EchoWrite is its 'custom prompts function' that helps reshape raw speech into professional outputs almost instantly. It's intelligent enough to help turn a mind dump into a structured document, automatically strip filler words, or dictate logic in plain English and convert the same into clean formatted code.EchoWrite values user's privacy and offers sovereignty over data, either by sending voice data directly to OpenAI using a personal key or running high-performance Whisper models 100% locally. Lastly, EchoWrite offers an option for a lifetime license, providing unlimited use without monthly AI markups. Help other people by letting them know if this AI was useful. Add your own prompts and outputs to help others understand how to use this AI.

A Professional Framework to Evaluate EchoWrite

When considering EchoWrite for integration into your organizational workflow, we recommend deploying a structured score card across three critical operational pillars: Security & Compliance, Integration Friction, and long-term Price Scalability. Rather than looking only at basic feature lists, modern procurement teams must assess how a software platform behaves under high load and how well it fits into the team's data security guidelines.

1. Security and Database Compliance

Depending on your operating region and field, ensure that EchoWrite supports standard security layers such as SOC 2 Type II certifications, GDPR compliance, or HIPAA-compliant database encryption. If the tool connects directly to client database tables or handles user passwords, verify that they implement multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO) integrations, and end-to-end data encryption in transit and at rest.

2. API Coverage and Custom Integrations

Siloed data is the primary cause of operational friction. Evaluate if EchoWrite has native connectors for your current project trackers, messaging hubs, and customer communication channels. For custom developer requirements, check if they provide a fully documented REST API with reasonable rate limits, comprehensive Webhooks support, and robust SDK packages in your language. A flexible API layer saves hundreds of hours of manual copy-paste overhead.

3. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

SaaS pricing packages are often deceptively simple. When reviewing EchoWrite's billing structure, map out your team's projected expansion over the next 12 to 24 months. Determine how costs scale as your customer database increases or as you add team members. Factor in setup costs, mandatory support plan upgrades, API access fees, and storage overage rates to understand the true cost before committing to a contract.

By combining verified user reviews from our directory with internal workflow pilot tests, your procurement team can make an informed decision that drives productivity without creating capital waste.

B12 exceeded my expectations especially after I tried a few similar tools. Signing up took under a minute and because I offer a very specific set of services as a consultant, I didn't expect the AI to be able to capture my work, but it did a great job with creating content for me. I only had to make a few edits, add my bio, and was able to publish that same day. Now I get lots of compliments on my site and I've even tried their other tools like email marketing, which is great because the emails match my site's appearance. Overall I would recommend B12 as an effective, affordable, and easy to use website solution.

I think it's the best @Image Generator I ever found on the net. It gives more accurate image according to the prompt. And thank you for keeping it for free.

The most humanly AI i have used so far but the problem is as soon as you start piling up messages in single chat session , it starts getting slow and at some point it starts freezing and also uses a lot of resources. For time being its okay to do 3 4 messages but as soon as we continue it has messages limitation and also starts getting very very slow . For the price of £18 per month this is unacceptable and with the newly introduced feature called project, if we start new chat within the project we cannot continue with the context we provided in other chats within same project. There are lot of improvements for them to work on. And to start with the its speed and its price

I already have another transcription tool, but this one is much better. I love the different features such as the summary, quiz, and chapters. It does a great job of them. I've only done one transcript so far to try it out, but I'm truly impressed and am going to grab another code. A couple things that would make it even better are: - the ability to rename the files and organize them through folders. - the ability to download a copy of the other features as well as the transcript. Copying and pasting it works, but doesn't keep the format.

Not at all accurate…. The only thing similar between original and generated images were the clothes and accessories… face was absolutely new and unconnected.

Maybe you don’t have a subscription, so there are no credits on your account, and a lot of features require credits to use.

I’m using the free version just for plain transcription and it does the job very well. I don’t really need the extra prompt stuff right now, but the fact that it’s a one-time payment if I ever want to upgrade makes me think I probably will at some point. So far it’s been reliable. Sure, there are occasional little hiccups with Whisper itself (accents, background noise, etc.), but that’s the model, not the app. Every single tool like this is built on Whisper anyway, whether it’s OpenAI’s cloud version or local. Since this one lets you do unlimited free transcription (modulo API costs if you go cloud), it’s hard to complain. For free? Massive yes from me.

Am I biased in giving my own tool 5 stars? Frankly, maybe, but I'll tell you why I do it. It's because I originally developed this tool for myself, and I've been using it every day since. It was when I found the tool interesting enough and with enough features that I decided to polish it and share it with everyone. But by being a user of my own tool, I can spot bugs quite quickly, iterate on it, and develop relevant features.

Really solid on Windows. I’ve tried several similar transcription tools before, but this one feels much better integrated into the system. The customizable global shortcuts are a game changer, you can either just do plain transcription or trigger your own custom prompts/actions with Adifferent hotkeys. A lot of competitors do Aroughly the same thing, but @EchoWrite stands out because the basic transcription is essentially free (you just need your own OpenAI API key, which costs next to nothing). If you want the custom prompts and translations, it’s a one-time payment instead of yet another subscription. In 2026 that’s actually pretty fair compared to everything else out there. Big thumbs up.

@Spokenly feels genuinely practical for people who prefer talking through ideas instead of typing everything manually. I also like that offline/local support is included since a lot of dictation tools still depend completely on the cloud.

This is one of those apps that when you use it for the first time, it feels like magic. It is one of the apps that has led to me using it the most every day. It's almost as integral to me now as ChatGPT.
