Dictly Overview

What is Dictly?

Dictly is a privacy-focused on-device dictation tool designed specifically for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS platforms. It turns speech into structured, polished text in real-time without the need for servers, data collection or delays. The tool functions both online and offline, performing speech recognition, text formatting, and data storage entirely on the user's device, thus ensuring data privacy. Dictly operates without an internet connection, making it suitable for use in environments including flights and hospitals. It includes a Quick Capture feature that allows for natural speech input, with the output inserted wherever the user's cursor is placed. Dictly offers users control through programmable Workflows and Per-App Profiles, enabling customisation of the tone, text structure, and dictation behaviour for each app used. Additionally, it possesses a live, customizable pipeline which processes and formats user speech in real time. The tool auto-submits dictated text into any field via Type-out, Paste, or Copy with an offline submission option. Dictly on iPadOS and iOS features an instant capture UI designed for one-handed input, shared workflows with macOS, and a history viewer with share sheet export. The macOS version also supports various insertion modes, custom dictionaries, local analytics, full transcription history with search, and offline operation with identical latency. Dictly provides both free (Dictly Core) and paid (Dictly Pro) versions. The Pro version offers additional features such as unlimited workflows, profiles, and export options. The tool supports commands for drafting emails, jotting notes or commenting code, shaping words to user preference before they appear on the page. In consideration of privacy and security, Dictly uses Local SwiftData storage with an upcoming option for private CloudKit sync. There is no data transmission with Dictly, ensuring that user data never leaves the Apple ecosystem. Help other people by letting them know if this AI was useful. Add your own prompts and outputs to help others understand how to use this AI.

A Professional Framework to Evaluate Dictly

When considering Dictly for integration into your organizational workflow, we recommend deploying a structured score card across three critical operational pillars: Security & Compliance, Integration Friction, and long-term Price Scalability. Rather than looking only at basic feature lists, modern procurement teams must assess how a software platform behaves under high load and how well it fits into the team's data security guidelines.

1. Security and Database Compliance

Depending on your operating region and field, ensure that Dictly supports standard security layers such as SOC 2 Type II certifications, GDPR compliance, or HIPAA-compliant database encryption. If the tool connects directly to client database tables or handles user passwords, verify that they implement multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO) integrations, and end-to-end data encryption in transit and at rest.

2. API Coverage and Custom Integrations

Siloed data is the primary cause of operational friction. Evaluate if Dictly has native connectors for your current project trackers, messaging hubs, and customer communication channels. For custom developer requirements, check if they provide a fully documented REST API with reasonable rate limits, comprehensive Webhooks support, and robust SDK packages in your language. A flexible API layer saves hundreds of hours of manual copy-paste overhead.

3. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

SaaS pricing packages are often deceptively simple. When reviewing Dictly's billing structure, map out your team's projected expansion over the next 12 to 24 months. Determine how costs scale as your customer database increases or as you add team members. Factor in setup costs, mandatory support plan upgrades, API access fees, and storage overage rates to understand the true cost before committing to a contract.

By combining verified user reviews from our directory with internal workflow pilot tests, your procurement team can make an informed decision that drives productivity without creating capital waste.

Total game changer. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now, and honestly, I don’t think I need my copywriter or editor anymore. I usually use a mix of Perplexity Claude ChatGPT to generate content for my sites. But no matter how advanced my prompts are, the output often still gets flagged as AI generated by tools like Originality or ZeroGPP.. and it still reads a bit synthetic. After running the content through @HumanTone, though, it actually sounds like something a real person wrote. Clean, natural, quality. I still make a few light edits here and there, but man… it saves a ridiculous amount of time.

This tool finally helps me understand what makes a great prompt. It doesn't just give me a better version, it shows me to get there by analyzing why the original prompt is weak and showing what to improve. The difference this makes to the final AI output is incredible. An essential tool for getting more accurate and detailed results, Great Job!

@Clever AI Humanizer is a smart solution for making AI text more 'human' at no cost. I've tried it myself, and the results are truly natural, not robotic. Highly recommended for those who frequently use AI for content! 👍🏼

The most humanly AI i have used so far but the problem is as soon as you start piling up messages in single chat session , it starts getting slow and at some point it starts freezing and also uses a lot of resources. For time being its okay to do 3 4 messages but as soon as we continue it has messages limitation and also starts getting very very slow . For the price of £18 per month this is unacceptable and with the newly introduced feature called project, if we start new chat within the project we cannot continue with the context we provided in other chats within same project. There are lot of improvements for them to work on. And to start with the its speed and its price

No other tool quite like this, it's pretty straightforward. Needed to extract a long interview from YouTube and it extracted everything, providing it in different meaningful formats in less than two minutes. Awesome

I already have another transcription tool, but this one is much better. I love the different features such as the summary, quiz, and chapters. It does a great job of them. I've only done one transcript so far to try it out, but I'm truly impressed and am going to grab another code. A couple things that would make it even better are: - the ability to rename the files and organize them through folders. - the ability to download a copy of the other features as well as the transcript. Copying and pasting it works, but doesn't keep the format.

One of the most accurate API's I've used for speech to text and summarization. Cost effective w/ bulk contracts too.
